Our Philosophy

At Emmanuel Christian School, we believe in nurturing, curious, courageous, safe, happy and engaged children and young people through embedding and enacting the aspirations of the National Principles of Child safe organisations in entirety. Mutual respect and the tolerance it engenders inform our school’s embrace of both intellectual and cultural diversity, with a belief that our mission is to provide the greatest opportunity and learning experiences for each one of our students to realise their God-given purpose and re-imagine life’s possibilities.

Transformation by Design as our pedagogical approach prizes individual endowments, creativity, and agency, whilst embracing the inherent utility of academic rigor, discipline, and understanding within a Christian context. We believe that students are instinctual learners, hence we honour their partnership on the educational journey, together with their families and the community at large.

Our culture is embedded and espoused in our values of faith, hope, love, integrity, courage, and respect, the greatest amongst these being love. Through our values, we are bound as community striving for continuous improvement through diverse learning experiences, and the equipping of our students and staff, for collective efficacy in physical environments fit for purpose in the present. The desire to be in the present propels us to always consider our daily approaches through reflective practice, evidence-based decision making, and ongoing reviews and modifications of the curriculum.

Our key deliverables remain: adaptability of our students for the present and the future, development of a growth mindset, and a mastery of disciplines. Through an emphasis on character-formation, our approach to relational breakdown and shortcomings in norms observation, is restorative through a consistent, proportionate, and fair application of our guidelines for positive behaviour for learning, to avail opportunities for every student to transform and realise their full God-given potential.

Faith

Emmanuel is a Christian School. Through upholding Christian values and anchoring Christian teaching, we cultivate a nurturing environment for all. At our core, we embrace the biblical principles of love, faith, and hope, and use them in guiding our students towards holistic learning. On the value of love our community is built, and lives it through compassion, kindness, and gratitude daily. Through our faith in Christ, we strive to instil positive character, to enable them to navigate life with integrity, courage, and resilience. Having hope anchored in God’s redemptive plan we re-imagine life’s possibilities, empowering our students to dream boldly and strive for a better future.
